Festival of Archaeology 2023

Magnitude Surveys are thrilled to be taking part in this years’ Festival of Archaeology with the CBA and the National Trust

The Festival of Archaeology, the UK’s biggest annual celebration of archaeology, taking place from 15-30th July, will return this summer to the South West. The Festival’s headline event for Youth Leaders will take place on 23 July at Stourhead, in collaboration with the National Trust and in partnership with Magnitude Surveys.

The Festival, delivered by the Council for British Archaeology (CBA), incorporates hundreds of in-person and virtual events around the UK, encouraging its audience to discover the places and archaeology around them.

We look forward to being able to offer a range of creative and fun activities designed to engage young and adult minds alike! Participants will also get to try out different types of geophysical survey equipment and will be able to scan the ground and see the results in real time! Through these activities, we hope participants can develop their skills and understanding of the world of geophysics and the role it plays in archaeology.”

To discover more about the event and others in the area, residents can visit the Festival page, where they can search using our handy map feature or regional filter. For queries and questions related to the Festival contact festival@archaeologyuk.org.
